Live at Square Chapel - Comedy Stars of the future
Live at Square Chapel is an exciting brand-new monthly comedy club for Square Chapel Arts Centre and features the hottest comedy talent on the scene today, including some well-known faces as well as stars of the future!
Each show will host a range of comedy styles from professional comics regularly playing clubs across the UK, some of whom are familiar faces on TV.
MC: Jack Gleadow
Award-winning, stand-up comedian and Hull local, Jack Gleadow, is one of the most unique performers on the UK comedy circuit today. He takes his inspiration from the golden era of variety; Jack is the One-Man Variety Show with the use of sounds, stories, jokes and a scooter and has got off to a good start by already performing for Harry Hill!
Jack is also the winner of 2017’s Amused Moose National New Comic, and more recently nominated for Chortle’s Best Newcomer and Leicester Comedy Festivals’ Best New Show, both in 2019. He recently recorded an episode of Amazon’s Audible Presents.
Bright young comic, featured in AAA Late Show Edinburgh 2019, with sharp storytelling and acute observations, and a large social media presence.
Tom Elwes is a stand-up comedian, writer and actor. Tom is one of the newest comics to breakthrough on the comedy circuit. As a life-long Londoner, he uses a combination of storytelling and acute observations to make sense of his chaotic existence. His quick wit and high-energy charm make him one to look out for in the future. Tom spent most of 2020 developing a strong online presence and now has 10 of thousands of follows and his sketches have been viewed millions of times.
Erika’s razor-sharp, dark and visceral writing paired with precise delivery makes her one of the most exciting young comedians on the circuit. She has quickly become a much in demand writer and comedian working on numerous high profile shows.
In 2019, she was crowned winner of the Chortle Student Comedy Award, was the recipient of the Mike Craig Comedy Award, and the Hot Water Roast Battle Champion. She has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe, Latitude Festival, and the Toronto Sketch Festival. Erika has recently written for the latest season of Late Night Mash and Never Mind The Buzzcocks.
