Manchester Thinkers and Drinkers Pub Tour
With Suzanne Hindle
Thursday 10 October & Thursday 17 October, 6 – 8.30pm
Meet inside the Corn Exchange atrium
(Ends near Manchester Town Hall)
Pubs have traditionally been environments conducive to the culture of writing and ideas, and there’s also an undeniable (sometimes treacherous) link between writing and inspiration. As James Joyce wrote, ‘the sacred pint alone can unbind the tongue...’ Visit some of the city’s most literary watering holes and hear stories and snippets from writers past and present, including a punk poet, a communist thinker, a doomed opium dreamer, and a modern Mancunian bard.
