Jane Shoenbrun’s debut feature is an unusual horror set in the murky worlds of the internet. Late at night Casey, alone in her attic bedroom, is looking for something more significant than her existence. She decides to take the World's Fair Challenge, an online role-playing horror game. After the initiation, she documents the changes that may or may not be happening to her. Losing herself between dreams and reality, a mysterious figure reaches out, claiming to see something special in her uploads.

Calabria, Italy, the film parallels the young explorers’ mapping of the caves against the life of an elderly
shepherd working nearby. With neither story overlapping and the film taking a near-wordless approach, Il
Buco is an experience like no other, as nature takes is course and the audience sits back and absorbs the sheer
scale of it all. Utterly mesmerising and transcendent.
