Understanding our Woodlands
The woods aren’t just the place we walk our dog or go for a bike ride, they are also one of the most fascinating and important sanctuaries for nature and wildlife that exist in cities like ours. Surveying and understanding woodland allows us to protect and enhance it for both people and wildlife to enjoy and thrive in.
On this practical course you will help to survey the Slung Low wood, aiming to find out things like what tree and plant species are present, how old the wood might be and how healthy it currently is as an ecosystem and habitat.
Transport to and from the wood will be provided.
Please bring a packed lunch and dress for the weather and conditions underfoot.
