Presented by Long Nose Puppets
Long Nose Puppets are proud to announce their brand-new show.
A tale of hope, empathy and acceptance.
Based on the heart-warming and funny book 'The Hug' by Eoin McLaughlin and Polly Dunbar. Starring a Hedgehog and a Tortoise both in search of a restorative hug.
They face many rejections along the way from a rather scary badger, a squirrel (who knows A LOT about nuts), a shy frog, a fabulous fox and an owl who really wants to be wise.
Set to Tom Gray's beautiful and witty music, the audience is invited on a journey full of fun, laughter and love...and at the end, a very special hug from our puppets.
Duration: 45 minutes, plus the chance to “meet the puppets” after and experience an actual HUG!
Reserved Seating – Seats are selected at the time of booking and reserved for you at the event.
After welcoming over a staggering 120,000 visitors since its launch in October, the world’s most visited multi-sensory experience Van Gogh Alive has extended its run at MediaCity.
Originally due to end on 23rd January 2022, the incredibly popular exhibition will now run for an additional month until 27th February 2022.
The extension is the final chance to see the iconic ‘Sunflower Selfie room’ and life-sized version walk-in representation of Van Gogh’s ‘Bedroom in Arles’ painting.
The hugely successful experience has been visited by a number of celebrity names including football pundit Gary Neville and actresses Jorgie Porter and Dame Maureen Lipman, who said “No wonder the world has gone mad for this exhibition – it made my heart sing and feet dance.”
Prepare to transcend time and space as you accompany Van Gogh on a journey through the Netherlands, Arles, Saint Rémy and Auvers-sur-Oise, where he created many of his timeless masterpieces. Set to an evocative classical score, a thrilling display of over 3,000 inspirational images transforms every surface that surrounds you in what has been described as an "unforgettable multi-sensory experience".
Traditions of tiptoeing through silent galleries and viewing paintings from afar in quiet contemplation are forgotten as you find yourself interacting with art in ways you have never imagined. From start to finish, you will be surrounded by a vibrant symphony of light, colour, sound and fragrance as you wander around the exhibition and absorb it from every possible angle. Van Gogh's masterpieces come to life, giving you the sensation of walking right into his paintings, a feeling that is simultaneously enchanting, entertaining and educational.
At Van Gogh Alive you don't just look at his paintings, you step inside them and feel their power.
Worried about COVID symptoms affecting your visit? Well you can ‘Book with Confidence’ because no one with symptoms or who has been asked to self-isolate should attend the exhibition. And with that in mind, we have updated our terms and conditions so that you have up to 48 hrs before your visit to return or exchange your tickets for these reasons.
In light of the new Omicron variant and latest advice from the Prime Minister, we have introduced the mandatory wearing of face coverings, unless exempt or under the age of 12, within the venue.
Van Gogh Alive is generally open from 10:00am until 18:00pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Sunday and 10:00am – 21:00pm on Friday and Saturday (other than some dates over the Christmas period). On certain dates, additional visiting slots may be added outside of these times, whilst some visiting slots within these times may be removed, dependent on demand.
Van Gogh Alive MediaCityUK is located on The Piazza of MediaCityUK in Salford. The full address is MediaCityUK, Salford, M50 2NT. There are many public transport options to choose from.
Van Gogh Alive is not an art exhibition in the traditional sense. We encourage you to move around freely to view the experience from different perspectives, always mindful of other visitors in the venue.
