Salford Community Leisure’s Dance Team are delighted to be able to welcome you back to The Lowry Theatre to celebrate our Street Dance Showcase- ‘Out with the old, in with the new’.

Over 100 SCL Street Dancers from across the city will come together to dazzle and  astound you with their street dance skills and talents. Join us in our celebration of dance!

Aakash Odedra Company and Bagri Foundation invite you to enter the world of Samsara.

Journey through the vast cultures of China and India in this physical and spiritual performance. Created and performed by international dance artists Aakash Odedra (UK/India) and Hu Shenyuan (China); they draw upon the diverse disciplines of ballet, Chinese folk, kathak and contemporary dance. Samsara is inspired by the journeys of the many monks believed to have attempted the long pilgrimage between China and India, that led to the classic 16th Century Chinese story Journey to The West. This compelling journey of self-development, strength, fear and love finds new meaning in modern times. Samsara traces a path across lands and through time, exploring the idea that if we let attachments go and allow love or light in, we might find a place of truth and peace.

Immerse yourself in the energy and skill of these two extraordinary dancers, and the live music of composer and singer Nicki Wells (UK/Switzerland) in this epic journey of discovery.

Sleeping Beauty – a spectacular fairy-tale
Music by Pyotr I. Tchaikovsky

Every child’s favourite fairy-tale, Sleeping Beauty is the classic story of love and innocence, mystery and magic set to Tchaikovsky’s sublime score. After a very long break we are proud to present to you the UK Premier of this ballet company from Moldova.

Stunning choreography, sumptuous costumes and wonderful sets form the fantasy world in which the Lilac Fairy struggles against the evil Carabosse.

Outline based on the fairy-tale by Charles Perrault, the Sleeping Beauty tells of the Princess Aurora, cursed at her christening by the evil Carabosse to prick her finger one day on a spindle and die.

Thanks to the timely intervention of the Lilac Fairy, she doesn’t die, but sleeps for a hundred years.

Woken by a prince, who has battled through the Enchanted Forest to reach her, they marry at a ceremony attended by nursery rhyme characters like Puss in Boots and all the other forest creatures.

There are no scores more successful in supporting the full range of ballet than those by Tchaikovsky.
Highlights include the Famous ‘Rose Adagio’ when Princess Aurora is introduced to four princes.

A wonderful evening out and memories which you will cherish long after the final curtain falls.

Swan Lake – The greatest of all romantic ballets

Crown Ballet presents to you the most famous Ballet of all time. Swan Lake is one of Tchaikovsky’s best works, featuring some of ballet’s most memorable music and breath-taking dance. After a very long break we are proud to present to you the UK Premier of this ballet company from Moldova.

Swan Lake is a tale of two young women, Odette and Odilie, who resembles each other so strikingly one can easily be mistaken for the other.

It is the compelling legend of a tragic romance in which a princess, Odette, is turned into a swan by an evil curse. Prince Siegfried chances upon a flock of swans while out hunting. When one of the swans turns into a beautiful young woman he is instantly captivated – will his love prove strong enough to break the evil spell that she is under?

Swan Lake is full of mystery and romance and has captured the imagination of generations over the years and it continues to attract worldwide audiences, young and old.

Stockport Operatic Society will present TOP HAT, This will bring the glamour of Hollywood’s golden age and the glorious, tap-dancing magic of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers to the Plaza Theatre in one of the greatest dance musicals of all time whilst travelling between New York, London and Venice.

Packed full of Irving Berlin's greatest hits including "Puttin' on the Ritz" , "Isn't This a Lovely Day" (To Be Caught in the rain)?, "Cheek to Cheek",and "Top Hat,White Tie and Tails" , TOP HAT is an exhilarating celebration of 1930's song and dance.

Strictly Come Dancing 2021 champion and dance heart-throb Giovanni Pernice invites
you to join him on a journey to his homeland for his brand new 2023 production of ‘Made
in Italy’.

Joined by an outstanding ensemble of some of the best dancers and singers from the
Ballroom and theatre world, this show promises to be a fantastic night out!
This Italian themed show features an incredible sound track, stunning choreography and
beautiful costumes. But be warned… in Italy, it can get HOT HOT HOT!!!!

There are a limited number of VIP tickets available which includes show ticket, plus a pre-show
meet & greet with Giovanni, a signed print, VIP lanyard and photo opportunities.
Te VIP meet and greet is PRE-SHOW, 90 minutes before the performance is due to start.
All VIP ticket holders must arrive at least 10 minutes before the meet and greet start time, as latecomers may
not be permitted.
