Famous for her novels Cranford, North and South, Ruth, Mary Barton and Wives and Daughters, Elizabeth Gaskell was one of the nineteenth century’s most important women writers.
Visitors to the House will experience refurbished rooms in the style of the mid nineteenth century and a replanted Victorian garden. You can explore an exhibition about the House’s renovation and relax in our Tea Room.
