'Close Up' feat. Vini Reilly
Tickets for 'Close Up' feat. Vini Reilly at Manchester Town Hall
Vini Reilly in-conversation, with special guest John Bramwell (I Am Kloot), exclusive acoustic set.
This event in the historic surroundings of Manchester Town Hall marks the final days of sale for the 'Thirty One Songs' collection released in February 2012 to raise money for CALM, a charity that reaches out to suicidal young men. Among the artists featured on the album are; Elbow, Everything Everything, I Am Kloot, Delphic, JP Cooper, and Durutti Column. Copies of the album will be on sale at the Town Hall.
The centrepiece of the evening will be a live onstage interview with Vini Reilly who made his name in Durutti Column, was managed Tony Wilson, and became the first signing to Factory Records in 1978. Vini has worked and recorded alongside the likes of Morrissey, and John Cooper Clarke. He'll be in-conversation with Dave Haslam.
Special guests will also be appearing; John Bramwell (I Am Kloot) will be performing a short set of acoustic songs. This exclusive Town Hall event in support of the ‘Thirty One Songs’ project comes in the wake of I Am Kloot’s two sell-out gigs at the Ritz. JP Cooper will be also appearing.
Vini Reilly suffered several minor strokes in recent years and has been unable to perform. The finale to the night will be his first public performance for eighteen months when he will play one song (one never recorded or released).
Expect an emotional evening, with high quality guests, and amazing live music. And all proceeds to CALM.
