Three Thursdays in March (11, 18 and 25) at 1pm.
These tours, led by Jonathan Schofield, will look at Peel Park, Chapel Street and the area nearby. With superb images and maps and a lively commentary chock full with humour, these virtual excursions will be both entertaining and informative. There will be time for people to reveal their own thoughts or memories at the conclusion.
There are stories of amazing churches, great pubs, invading armies, dole protests, novelists and songwriters, of elegant generals, important newspaper editors and 21st century re-invention.
There are love stories, ghost stories and stories of atomic bunkers and er…penalty shoot-outs.
In partnership with Salford City Council Park Ranger team, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Three-time Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee and very-hard-to-pin-down-indie-underdog-nightmare Josie Long is back with a brand new show after a brief hiatus, during which she had a baby and so on.
How do you bring someone into a world that everyone keeps telling you is ending? This show is about the mind-bending intensity of new motherhood, but mostly about kindness, gentleness, and joy - all in all, the edgiest thing you will see this year. The aim is for you to come out of it feeling optimistic about the future, although that is a big ask. At the very least there will be some really silly voices in it, and that’s not nothing.
★★★★★ The Skinny “Riotously hilarious...a uniquely optimistic hour of comedy”
★★★★ The Times “Brilliantly evocative, an original and unflagging spirit.”
★★★★ The Guardian ““Full of love and defiant joy”
★★★★ The Scotsman “Her excitability is as infectious as always...explicitly personal and positive...an hour of near constant laughs”
HELLO
By Bertrand Lesca and Nasi Voutsas
Combining real phone conversations with still pictures, texts and music, HELLO is a cross between a video diary and a series of postcards sent between Bert & Nasi during and after last year's lockdowns. It is a funny and personal account of two people trying to maintain their friendship and creative partnership whilst living far apart.
Every day for7 days you will receive a text message from Bert & Nasi with a link to a different film. Films will only be available until the end of the week. Once they're gone, they're gone.
Please note: you will need an internet enabled phone to receive our text messages. We will also need your first name and phone number, but we promise we won't share any of your data with anyone else no matter how much money they offer us. We would never do that because that's a total breach of trust and we just wouldn't do it – no matter how much money. No way Jose. Not even a million pounds. Facebook and literally everyone have already done it so there would be no point anyway. All personal data will be deleted after the final message has been sent.
The link to enter your phone number will be sent in your booking confirmation. To receive all the messages, you must add you phone number by 9am on Friday 26 March. Numbers added after this point will miss out on some texts.
Commissioned by The Lowry and MAYK. Supported by Arts Council England. Bert and Nasi are produced by Farnham Maltings.

17 dancers, 35 scenes, 100 characters…
Like passing-by miniature scenes through a train window, or cycling through the streets and peering into apartments, we all love to glimpse into other lives, and the homes they’re lived out in.
Rambert’s brilliant dancers invite us into wildly different worlds and surprising set-ups. People trying to live their lives, navigate dilemmas, swerve mishaps and survive their mini-dramas.
Rooms is a daftly ambitious dance-theatre-film that is performed live. It’s sometimes absurd it’s oftentimes funny. It’s beautiful and it’s peculiar, and occasionally a little bit sad. Or maybe it’s all perfectly normal.
…unlike most livestreams, this was not a static recording or a glitchy presentation over Zoom. Watching it felt more like watching a movie, immersive and absorbing, yet easily the most technically sophisticated live dance production I’ve seen since theaters closed
New York Times on Rambert’s Draw from Within.
Single ticket £10
Household ticket £15
Or including a donation to the venue and Rambert £20
