OH MR PORTER

Having failed in every other job, railway employee
William Porter finally feels he has found his metier as
a wheel-tapper, but his sister decides that this is too
lowly a position for him. She tells her husband, who
just happens to be the man who runs the railways,
that unless he finds William a more respectable
job, she will invite him to live in their house. Mr
Porter’s sudden promotion takes him to Northern
Ireland, where he will be the stationmaster at a
remote country station in the backwater town of
Buggleskelly.

THE GHOST TRAIN

Mismatched travellers are stranded overnight at a
lonely rural railway station. They soon learn of local
superstition about a phantom train which is said to
travel these parts at dead of night, carrying ghosts
from a long-ago train wreck in the area. The travelers
eventually get to the bottom of the things that go
bump in the night.
In between the scary bits, comedian Arthur Askey
plays the gags with his Vaudeville style humor, to the
constant irritation of his fellow passengers.
